A fairytale of a day

We went to the bluebell woods today. I had every intention of coming back with some lovely photos of my children in the bluebells. Silly, silly me!

Lessons learned today:
1) check that the camera lens that was used most around the beach has actually been cleaned or every photo will have a distinctly blurred look about it
2) my children are incapable of being sensible if they know I want to take photos of them
3) never work with animals or children
4) despite all the above, sometimes the unexpected can happen.

My unexpected moment turned out to be a field full of dandelions where we had our picnic. The flowers captured Hayley's attention immediately in a way that the bluebells didn't. It didn't take long for Tyran to join in, and so began an hour of flowery fun.

We made daisy chains with the dandelions. We skipped (or tried to!) with the longest chain. Hayley got a garland for her hair, a necklace and a bracelet. Tyran made himself some glasses. And who'd have thought it - a field of dandelions provided a photo opportunity that a woodland full of bluebells didn't. Largely because the children were just having a fun and didn't know there was a camera around. Actually, it's hard to choose which pictures to share. So do look on Flickr if you get the chance.

Oh, and for what it's worth, here are the best of the bluebell photos. Think we'll be going to our local woods on Monday. I will not be beaten!!
