Peppa Pig Cake

Made for an old school friend's daughter who is turning 2. The cake is enormous, which I don't think is obvious in the photos. I bought a much larger cake tin than I usually use because I'e been wanting a bigger tin for ages. The cake ended up taking 3 layers, each using double the recipe, so that's a lot of cake!! 18 eggs just for starters. And my goodness, it was so heavy. But beautiful. I'm really pleased with it and there's nothing I'd want to change - shocking!! Had to happen eventually...

The worst part of all was transporting it. I've always known the road to Haywards Heath is bumpy, I drive along it 4 days a week and I was driven along it at high speed when in labour, but none of that prepared me for the stress of transporting cake with fragile flowers on it. Thankfully we all arrived in one piece!

  1. That's a lot of eggs!! Try substituting an egg with a tablespoon on white vinegar next time - I'm sure it'll save you some money :)
